Sending SOS messages can help you get the emergency services you need if you're in a dangerous situation. You can set up the function on your iPhone, Android or Samsung Galaxy to send text and pictures to the contacts you designate. For the iPhone, the SOS feature works without needing to have location services turned on. In case you're out of the United Kingdom, you can configure your iPhone to call a local emergency number. After your call is complete, your emergency contacts will receive a text message with a link to your location.

The SOS feature on the Samsung Galaxy phones is activated by pressing the power button three times in a row. Using the side button, you can stop the call. Once you've paused the call, you can use the volume buttons or the Stop button to end the call. However, if you're on the older iPhone models, you'll have to use the top or side button to get the Emergency SOS slider.

Unlike the Apple phone, the Huawei and Xiaomi phones can be configured to make emergency calls from the lock screen. When you do this, the emergency contact will be notified about your current location and the call will end.
